“Scarborough fair"是电影《毕业生》的主题曲，歌曲的内容讲了一个在战争中死去
的幽灵，一边擦拭着自己的武器，一边恋恋不舍地拦住路过的商人，请求他们捎去自己
对远方恋人的爱和思念，捎去他永远再也不能实现的诺言。 Scarborough 是英国东海
岸偏北的一座海滨城市。 里面出现了一些香草的名字：欧芹（Parsley）、鼠尾草（
sage）、迷迭香（rosemary）和百里香（thyme）都是当地（Scarborough Fair）著名
的香草，并且有着各自不同的象征意义，这四种植物与死亡有着某种联系， 放到歌词
里，是起到一种点题的抒情作用。
