try chsh.. or edit the /etc/passwd file..

if just want to try tcsh or bash, just key in tcsh or bash(maybe bsh). permanent change, then use chsh /bin/tcsh depends on the actual path.

on Linux, u just need update passwd. on *BSD , u need update the db file, not plaintxt file passwd I don't know how about Solaris :-) br />

If you don't have administrative right, you can always add . /bin/tcsh (for example) into you .cshrc file.
