you didn't tell us teh OS you are using, so we can't give specific answer.
in general, if it is a managed computer, when there are somebody acting as
dedicated admin, ask them to restore your backup. if it is your personal
computre, when yourself is the admin, you should stop using it at once,
umount the partition or mount it readonly, then find ways for your OS and
file system.
in the case of source files, there are big chance to recover them, as long
as you stop using the partition immediate

did you try the solutions before? if you are using EXT2 file system,
you can try something like ext2 debug utility, but that needs knowledge
of EXT2 file system.
