to communicate from a Unix box to a Windows Server?
We have an application that will generate files that need to be FTP or
somewhat automatically transfered to a Win NT Server. The requirement is that
it should be an automatic process, when the application generates the file,
the file will be automatically transferred to certain folder on the NT Server.
First, is this at all possible? If uyes, are there any software or server side
application needed to make this possible? What we need on both si

yes totally possible.
If u have a web server or FTP server on NT that's easiest.

I know we currently have something with an opposite direction: kicked off from
the NT Server side, automatically login to the Unix box and retrieves the file
but it only runs once a day.
We need something that'll be kicked from the Unix side when a file is
generated, not kicked off from the NT side by keeping checking the Unix box
from NT side.
By FTP server method, do you mean to have a batch program on Unix side,
whenever there is a new file, then logs onto the FTP server on NT and put the

I know this may be too basic for you guys. Can someone give a little bit more
details? OR where can I search for more details on a similar examples?
I'm trying to get the Unix and Windows Sys Admin to do something like this for
our project but they are kind of kicking the ball back and forth. So I'd like
to know more about it and give them a little push.

Of course it's possible and it's very easy.
The server side is just a ftp server.
