高人异人，
我的台式机上装了solaris 9 x86,好容易下载安装了网卡驱动，现在本地ping
192.168.0.1已经没有问题。(我给台式机设的IP)。我的笔记本上装的是win，我设的IP是
192.168.0.2.当然两台机子之间用网线连接上了。但问题是无论我想从笔记本ping台式机
还是相反都ping不通。我也试了在solaris上用route加了一个default的192.168.0.254作
为gateway,还是没戏。麻烦指点一下。谢过先

you need crossover cable for NIC to NIC connection.

Thanks for the follow-up. But I have the crossover cable already. Actually
previously I installed Red Hat linux 8 on the desktop and I had no problem
with the communication between my laptop and desktop. I used the same
technique on the new Solaris, (ifconfig, route add etc.) but had no luck to
get it working. I am wondering which part of configuration I missed.

check you firewall settings.
