别鄙视我。。高中学的排列组合忘掉了。。
题目：The library is to be given 5 books as a gift. The books will be
selected from a list of 21 titles. If each book selected must have a
different title, how many possible selections are there?
我想的是第一本书有21种选择，第二本20种选择，以此类推。。
所以结果应该是21*20*19*18*17＝2441880
为啥不是啊，求数学高人解释下。。。。。。。。俺是文科生。。

你可以考虑如果要从21本书里挑21本书。。。

你不用问数学高人，问高中生就可以了

我怎么觉得这个问题问的不太明确呢？到底是从21个title里选5个，还是要把这5个分
给5本不同的书呢？如果是后者，不就是楼主的答案么？

主要是选书不需要顺序。你这个是给定了顺序。
