服务质量同东家的生意息息相关!!被多次投诉的服务员是要被辞退的,不好的服务严 重触及东家利益底线。我可以说绝大多数干服务员职业的是喜欢小费制度的。酒店里有 做Function的服务员,拿的是时薪,他们更羡慕拿小费的,当然前提是要有生意的餐厅 。没生意的地方当然拿时薪划算。这个风俗就是美国的风俗,That's The Way It Is。 每个人都知道基本小费底线,哪些行业需要给小费,凭良心给。要想不给小费,与其说 是痛恨小费制度,还不如说自己扣逼,没见过靠扣小费发达的。
you'd better pay it, it's called service fee. I think 10%+ is acceptable if you are running out of money. If you don't wanna pay it, then you will lose money somewhere else. That's called conversation of RP.
I think depends on the bill. normally the larger the bill, the less the percentage. Like $10-20 bill, pay 15%-25% is quite reasonable. If a dinner like $100-150 , pay $15-$20 tip should be enough for me. ( 13% -15% mostly) For a waiter/waitress, she will be happy when serving 4 people and get a tip for $20 bucks on a $150 bill (even it's slight less than 15% )
If you ever run a business, you will know that the restaurant space is not free. The rent is very high. If restaurant need hire someone clean the table after you and the restaurant, where the money come from?
