There are many reasons why someone might go to community college before
transferring to a four-year university. Money is one of the reasons. If
you are a new immigrant and have only one or two years, or even less, of
high school here, there is pretty much no chance for you to get accepted by
a good university, then you might want to go to community college first and
then transfer later. Transferring to a good U from community college is a
lot easier than from a so-so four-year U, at least that is what everyone
says in California.

社区大学及其便宜，没有门槛，学分可转。

不知道这种说法有什么依据，也许是在社区大学容易脱颖而出？
师资方面，四年制大学都要求教师博士学位，最好的社区大学也
做不到。实验室条件就更无法比较。另外社区大学的目标是学生
专科毕业以后可以直接工作，而不是为了你转入四年制大学。
所以课程的定位和深度都是偏向应用。
为了拿4.0GPA在学习能力最强的年纪耽误两年的时光非常不值。
以前还有说法比如上海本地学生宁愿考中专职校而不愿上大学，
还有北京单位宁愿雇佣联大的学生而不是北大的学生。这些貌似
荒诞但是听起来有道理的说法的真相往往是荒诞而没有道理。

我现在就在社区学校读。
1. 能找到工作，就不上本科了。不追求学位高
2. GPA 高，我在国内的GPA是2.7.现在在社区学校是3.85还多。 以后想读博士，好拿
资助。
3.比大学便宜，我现在一年的学费/生活费是2万4.同城大学的学费/生活费一年是3万8.

碰到好几个从CCSF 转到 UCB的，其中一个还是进的Haas， CCSF的GPA 都是4.0， 也不
是那么容易拿的。他们都是中国来的，直接申请UCB绝对没戏。

我在的CSN和UNLV通学分，在CSN学过的不少课在其他的4年大学就可转学分了。

是说美国么？很多人都是先社区大学，主要是省学费（学分可以带走），
时间灵活（比如还要打工赚钱），而且有了好的GPA和推荐转当地的好大学
也容易。

嗯。主要是省钱，但也有另外。很多美国家庭如果是女孩，就不放心高中一毕业就去四
年制大学，留在身边社区大学既省钱又安全。
我知道有个白妞，高中毕业时全校最高GPA，在当地还是个明星学生，但申请腾校都没
申请到，一气之下去了社区大学，把小伙伴们都惊呆了。
但人家一年后就去了哈佛。

一般当地好的社区大学都是跟当地4年制的大学合作的，你读完社区两年，可直接保送
的那种。或者直接是姐妹学校，所以某些程度上，差不多。你读社区大学了可为了省钱
，或者个人英语能力有问题需要特别辅导。我自己本身也是社区大学转学过去的，我个
人觉得社区大学并不会比正统的4年制大学简单，反而要求啥的都满高的！

社大毕业只是副学士学位，如果想要追求更高的学历，就转去四年制大学了，可以拿到
本科学士学位。毕业以后工资肯定更高呗。
还有就是社大转四年制大学比较好被录取。尤其像是转本州的四年制大学，即使是排名
特别靠前的名校，社大转录也跟玩儿似的。因为各州都对社大学生转录有优惠政策。美
国社大国际联盟ustopcc里面好多社区大学的院校介绍，微信公众号也有社大的解读。
社大也是正规大学体制内的一部分。有的是高中毕业直接去读本科了。有的人先社大读
两年，然后再转去四年制大学读大三大四而已。选择更多吧。。。
