【在 l********k 的大作中提到】 : 比如"to justify what he said",必须翻译成“为证明他所说的正当性(合理性)” : 这么长么?

Are you *still* *trying* to justify"因为是诘问, 所以你读出了贬义。
: Are you still trying to justify what you have done?

nowhere ``A necessitates B'' means ``A makes B necessary'',“A使B成为必要”,e.g., ``Your proposal would necessitate changing our plans.'' ``Your wrongdoing necessitates our further investigation.'' Similarly, ``A justifies B'' roughly means ``A shows/proves/implies that B is reasonable/necessary.''
As mentioned in my previous reply, ``A justifies B'' roughly means ``A shows/proves/implies that B is reasonable/necessary.'' ``Are you still trying to justify what you have done?'' === ``Are you still trying to show that what you have done is reasonable?'' There is no negative emotion in the word ``justify'' itself. 用进行时``Are you still trying...''而不是过去时``Did you try...'' I don't give a shit。
