installed yahoo messanger on my laptop, from my company. but could not
connect. Is it because firewall in my company, or because my configuration?
but I could check my yahoo email. thanks.

it is your configuration I guess.
Go to IM, click 左上角"messenger" -->preferences -->connection.
There are 4 choices. choose "No network detection".......
