Hello,
I cannot boot into windows now after I shut down my laptop last night.
Everytime I tried to boot into windows, it goes into blue screen. Can
anybody help me! Thank you very much!

press F8 at bootup, to see if you can boot into safe mode.

I cannot boot into safe mode either. I also tried to boot from CD using the
reinstallation CD but everytime it's chekcing the computer hardware, it
stops there.

take the hard drive out, boot from the windows xp cd, to see if it is the
hard drive's problem.

The error message says
UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME
would it be harddrive issue?

this is the error msg you got when booting with windows cd without the hard
drive?

It is the error message booting with the harddrive.
If booting from CD, nothing happens, just black screen.

By the error msg, mostly it is the hard drive's problem. But generally, if
you take the hard drive out first, then boot up the computer with windows CD
, it should boot up ok, only when you try to run setup, it will say it can
not find the hard drive.
Use a 2.5 inch usb enclosure or 2.5 to 3.5 adapter to connect it to another
computer, and try to back up your files first(if it is still possible).
If you have a ubuntu linux disk (can be downloaded from ubuntu website), if
the linux could boot up

Da xia,
Thanks a lot. It is a failure of hard drive. I just bought a new one as a
replacement.
Terrible ah terrible.
BTW, if I reformat the bad drive, will I still be able to use it?

If you could format it, and install it, run hdtune, take a look at the
health information and run a error scan. If everything looks fine, then
mostly you can use it.
