My guess, LZ is choosing between Emory and Georgia tech.
Georgia tech has very good industry relationships. It is not difficult to
find a job with a CS master degree from Georgia tech
Georgia tech ECE + CS together has near 200 faculties. So you have a much
larger curriculum to choose.

There are many terms that can convey the same meaning that you are trying to
express in your original post - it all depends on the context. Don't worry
about oregongirl's ideas i think they are jokes (i hope lol)
You can say 'unfashionable' if you are talking about closing. 'homely'
works as well. 'country' means more rural than 土, so it's probably not
accurate unless you actually are trying to say 'these guys dressed like they
are from a farm...' or something.
Corny can work as well - it all

地理位置比不上加州的学校。但在工业界的声誉和关系都很好。很多大公司都去佐治亚
理工招人。佐治亚理工的硕士program比博士program好。因为佐治亚理工在
在工业界的声誉比在学术界的声誉高。而且佐治亚理工几乎所有计算机系该有的课程都有
（操作系统，编译原理，图形学，人机界面，网络安全，人工智能，
机器人，算法，密码学，机器学习，数据库，电脑动画，电脑游戏，无线通讯，科学计算，
体系结构，软件工程，并行处理，嵌入系统，芯片设计，信号处理，图像处理，网络，
互联网应用）。估计很少学校开的课能比佐治亚理工全。
而且硕士又不做研究，工业界的声誉和关系对于硕士找工作来讲最重要。找个工业界背景
强联系多的教授，做个硕士毕业设计。找工作应该比emory容易很多。
硕士很多实习和工作机会都是老板推荐的。
举个例子，偶过去的老板在intel干过。现在毕业6个硕士都在intel。

It depends. As far as I know, it is important. Go to ask different people
in CS Master programs, and you will know the answer. Don't ask phd students.
Location is always very important.

In our school, lots of master students do have advisers. It is also not
uncommon for master students to do coop before they graduate.
The 6 master students I mentioned includes, 3 Indian F1, 1 Pakistan F1,
1 Turkish F1, 1 Arab F1. My adviser also graduated 2 PhDs working
for Intel,1 American, 1 Korean F1.
Not every professor recommends internship or job opportunity for master
student. But quite a number of professors do. My wife got her first job after
master degree solely because of her adviser

In this case artichoke's suggestion of tacky or gaudy is correct.
While both words describe bad fashion, gaudy is much stronger
with the sense that the person is trying to show off (flaunting).
There is another word, tawdry, which means showing off but also
cheap. Tacky is the most commonly used of the three, and is
probably the one you want to use.
Corny usually refers to something a person does as being
unoriginal or unimpressive.

i must admit that although "provincial manner" sounds correct i have never
heard it used...
but that's just me.

You may simply say....someone looks unpolished or someone is dressed in a
provincial manner.

In this case artichoke's suggestion of tacky or gaudy is correct.
While both words describe bad fashion, gaudy is much stronger
with the sense that the person is trying to show off (flaunting).
There is another word, tawdry, which means showing off but also
cheap. Tacky is the most commonly used of the three, and is
probably the one you want to use.
Corny usually refers to something a person does as being
unoriginal or unimpressive.

楼上有人说的对，要问清LZ所说的context才好给出意见
如果是这种情况的话，为啥非要问是否“土”呢？换个思维角度，直接问：
Do I look good in this? or Is it stylish/trendy on me?
等等太多的问法了。
