你的机子是dell的原装机，是从win98升级来的吗？

有些主板需要打个补丁才能改到udma，到你的主板网站看看，有没有针对win2000/xp的补

tommy, 你的情况和那个女孩的不同，你的是scsi硬盘，不是用dma或pio来描述的，那是
给ide接口用的。
scsi可以分为：SCSI-1和SCSI-2（SCSI Wide与SCSI Wind Fast），最新的为SCSI-3。
ide是：PIO（Programmed I/O）模式到DMA（Direct Memory
Access）模式，直至现今的Ultra DMA模式（简称UDMA）。
所以你的应该没有问题，不用调来调去的。

this is normal for Promise ata control card( i have not used any non Promise
ata card, so no idea what they will look like): in windows, that ata card will
be considered as SCSI controllers, such as my ATA 100 and ATA133 card
u do not connect anything on the primary IDE, maybe that is the reason
that u can not see the primary IDE in windows
Since u have nothing on primary IDE, why not change the CDRW to it, while
set the zip drive as master on secondary IDE? It will give u a better
performance.
