one of recent PC magazine or PC world compared several
major media players, and said realone basic with a
free plug-in can make MP3 very fast from CD. (without
plugin you can only make MP3 up to 96kbps)
however, I can't find the free plug-in anywhere...
I use CDEX now, it's freeware with reasonable speed.
