you probably need to reboot/log off on other computers to flush out the IP
cache? We saw this once, we rebooted the PC that needs to flush out IP cache
then everything is fine thereafter.
Probably there are better ways to do that?

You need to reboot other pcs that will ping XYZ. Win2k sometimes caches
DNS/DHCP settings locally. Make sure you also reboot your DNS/DHCP server if
they are different from your PDC.
btw, have you updated your DNS/DHCP table on your DNS/DHCP server to reflect
the changes? It looks like your DNS/DHCP table is still pointing to the old IP
address?
