Agree. Basically, if your machine is not dual boot to Linux/Win98, FAT32 doesn't have any advantage. NTFS can give you: * Better security, like encryption * Smaller cluster size, i.e., lots of small files will take less space in NTFS * Better performace * Other features like compression, quota, audit, virtual path, ... One possible con is if your system crashed, the disk will not be read by win98 machines. That's not a big deal cz you can now easily find a 2000/XP machine. Yes, convert can do it

IMHO, not as good as Unix symbolic link. I only found link to folders. Can you tell me how to do link to files? XPPro system natively support link a logical drive to an empty folder. With this tool, http://sysinternals.com/ntw2k/source/misc.shtml#junction, you can link any folder to any other foler. Interesting thing is, I linked one folder to another under one XP, and it shows the same thing under another XP. This shows that it is supported by the FS instead of OS.

if you attend my windows2000 course, the answer will give you 50% score. I didn't try to compare myself, buy my advicor(senior MCSE) said for most old computers, NTFS will make things worse. but it will not doubt NTFS is better for new PC, like PIV.
