I just added another processor to the computer running winXP Pro. The device
manager states there are two processors. However, the system variable still
states 1 processor and the windows task manager shows only one processor.
What is the quickest way to enable dual processor?

The idea is to update the acpi driver to ACPI MultiProc driver.
The following link is for win2k, see if it works for winXP:

If the method in previous link does not work, startup with windows xp cd to
do a repair installtion, and "When you see: 'Press F6 if you need to install
