this phase is the hardest of the four phases.
when you have PPPPPSSSS (p -- pair, S -- single), you need to throw away one
S, which one of the 4 shall you throw away?
Here is what I do.
1. the "good cards" if it is in the middle of the game; follow other people
if it is late stage of the game.
The purpose of this is to avoid PAO.
In the middle of the game, other people likely have not tinged. The good
cards are what they want later, so throw it away.
in later stage, some of them already ting. so follow what other people throw
away.
2. Keep those cards that neighbors are mostly gone.
Let me use an example to describe this one. Lets say you have
3 tiao, and dong feng as candidates to throw away.
On the table, 3 of the 4 2 tiao are out, 4 of the 4 tiaos are out.
one dong feng is out.
keep the 3 tiao but throw away dong feng.
Why? 3 tiao is useless to other people if they do not play 7 pair, but very
useful if they do. So you keep it.
