贴一条Ph.D.招生信息,希望对大家有用:
我知道有一个Ph.D 学生招生名额,全奖, 秋季入学, 在University of Wisconsin,
Milwaukee,机械系.
研究的领域是绿色设计及制造(目的是降低工业生产对环境的破坏和影响),这个领域美
国很热门,很多
大公司都有sustainability部门, 而且中国更需要,以后这个领域的发展空间应该很大.
Milwaukee是个很大的工业城市,当地大公司很多,UW Milwaukee做为当地的唯一的一所
research university,找工作有着很好的地理优势.
对申请者的要求:
1.理工科背景(Mechanical/Material/Chemical Engineering优先)
2.有比较强的数学建模能力.
3. 有硕士学位.

正在给孩子申请税号。除了W-7，还需要附tax return的表格。w-7自然是以孩子的名义
申请，但看了半天也没明白，需要附的1040是我的还是孩子的？
如果是孩子的，全部都填0 就好了，还是要把他上幼儿园的学费填进去？
另外，孩子能算做我的dependent吗？我08年8月来的，但孩子因为签证被拒了2次，第3
次才拿到签证。去年夏天才来，在美国还不到183天。而且美国这里的幼儿园一直在
waiting list上，09年10月份才排上。在中国一直上幼儿园。这能算作特殊情况吗？

也许是我太笨了。。。
每个topic的lecture里有practice这部分对吧？我做practice的时候选择的是“grade
questions when I select an answer”，问题是做完最后一题的时候怎么结束这个
practice session啊？是不是要点那个手掌一样的图标？（我点了study center那个键
，结果所有做完的题都没了！）
其实我不想选这个grade questions when I select an answer，可是要是选那个only
grade when i look at the answer explanation的话，我都找不到怎么看答案，每次
做完一题，那个显示答案的图标怎么总是灰色的？都做完也是一样？
大家给指点一下？谢谢啦~

Most of production team is in San Diego although I moved to mid-west. With
DV being common nowadays, you can shoot the footage with some help from us.
For editing, I think our production team can do it.

开始复习的时候把题目弄懂是主要目的，时间控制可以在基本复习过一遍之后再通过
simulation exam 和process test(?)来联系。

Some suggestion:
Video:
two camcorders: one close shot for people who play, musical instruments, for
very details - the person who handle this should walk around; one is set up
as stationary at a fixed position, and the audio should be directly from
the mixer, zoom in and out only. When editing, the audio should be from the
second one, and the video should be from both. (the first one may focus on
just a hand or just eyes.)
We used to use a Canon GL2 for walk-around camcorder and a Canon XL2 for

I did not try XH A1 before - but looks very nice.
太阳叔叔有个更牛B的? //@@ - around 10k range?
I assume this one should be put into stationary position.

I would not use a camera's video function 'cause camera normally has smaller
lens size and shorter focus for video. If such video is combined with the
video that was shoot from a camcorder, the difference is too obvious. But I
did use some footage from camera before, it is not bad if just using the
video alone.
