Hi, guys,
Couple weeks ago, I brought my company laptop to home and used my home
internet to access some of our competitors' websites. The main purposes is
that I want to follow the status of our competitors's technologies.
Meanwhile, I visited their career pages to see which kinds of positions you
are hiring now. Indeed, I did not want to change my jobs. Recently, I found
my manager was wired to me and asked me to write some technical documents
for someone. I just wonder if company IT departmen

Not really sure what the background info has to do with your question but...
几乎IT不会知道你在家去过那些websites. （本人不是IT System Admin，所以这只
是听来的）
就算你在家有连上VPN，只有经过corporate network的东西(i.e., intranet portal,
etc)才会通过IT的log。
打个比方：很多公司用Websense之类的，比如说不能上YouTube.你回家，用VPN，却还
可上YouTube!
(this is different than when you install programs and an asset tag is
assigned to the program, but normally IT doesn't check asset tags that
closely).
就算IT知道，你要等他们跟你老板讲再解释。多一事不如少一事。而且这种事是越描越
黑。

The problem is that I used company laptop to visit our competitors'
information using my home internet. Next day, i broung the laptop back to my
office. I know the history folder at my laptop had all of websites I
visited within last three weeks. I just wonder if IT department can find
these history folder information even if they are at my local laptop. Thanks.

It does not sound to me that you have very normal cognitive state.
A normal person would never connect these two together. If you do that
often, your mind is out of control. There could be thousands of such
conspiracy if one wants to make such connection.

A normal person would never connect these two together. If you do that
often, your mind is out of control. There could be thousands of such
conspiracy if one wants to make such connection.
