Hi,
I wonder if anyone has heard any news on NSF CAREER? In particular, any news
on CAREER from CISE-CNS-NeTS (i.e., Computer and Information Sciences and
Engineering)?
My proposal was reviews early October, but I have not heard any news from PM
yet. In case the propsoal is not funded, I am planning to write another
regular proposal based on part of the ideas used in the CAREER proposal; the
regular proposal deadline is Dec. 17. I wonder if anyone may advise whether
this will be treated as dual submission? Or should I contact PM on this?
One reason why I have not contacted PM yet is because one of my coleagues
told me earlier that I should not contact PM until 6 months after the
proposal submission, otherwise the proposal may be rejected (especially if
it is at the boundary).
On a related note, I have three proposals reviewed as "competitive" so far,
but none of them was funded in the end. I wonder if anyone else has similar
experience. I am from a small school (ranked around 70 in computer science).
Thanks and best,
BH
