Hi, there. It's my second time to write a post in this forum even though I have been here for quite a while under sea. I should say I learned a lot about the actuary from this forum. Today I really feel quite frustrated as I got a rejection letter after my first phone interview. I guess I need to have a through summary why I fail this time. A good beginning gives a good outcome. I am looking for some advice from you guys.
Right now I am trying to find an actuarial summer internship for next year

Never say you don't know something when you are asked about technical
questions unless it's obviously something you should not know.
Remember, not telling the absolute truth does not mean you are lying.
Also remember when 95% of the job hunters are exaggerating their skills/
abilities, it is simply dumb to remain 100% honest.
When they ask you if you have skill A, do not tell them you don't have that
skill. Instead, tell them you have skill B and C, which is relevant to
skill A.
For excel, go

呵呵,真认真,改英语还写这么长。
Question about over qualifications, I think nowadays more and more (Chinese)
applicants has all 4 preliminary exams under the belt for the first job, especially F1 who needs h1-b. I wouldn't worry too much about over
qualify.
Interview english. I think many people speaks better English when
interviewing, myself included. It's just a matter of practise. Go to monster
.com, or just google, you can find a lot of the common interview questions,
write down your answers, and keep prac

Don't worry too much. I also failed my first on campus interview on
internships due to a lot of reason. You'll finally succeed.
1. I guess your exam/academic background is strong enough. I don't know much
about the over-qualify issues, but I do heard from my friend in Watson
Wyatt talking about overqualification. They told me that companies would pay
salary according to how many exams you had passed. If you passed four exams
and didn't have any experience, they have to pay more money to you, but
