A shepherd dog has stepped in to look after tiger cubs Olymp, Dar and Talli
at a Russian zoo after their biological mother rejected them just days after
they were born.
Oktyabrsky zoo in Sochi had advertised for a foster mother for the cubs
online.
However, instead of a tigress, a white shepherd dog called Tallim stepped in
to fulfill the maternal role.
The Russian zoo keepers have assured visitors that the tiger cubs won't harm
their new canine mother.
According to animal experts, it is common practice for cubs to be placed
with animals that are not of the same species.
