Postdoc position:
The lab of Zhi Sheng, Ph.D is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to take a
lead role in all aspects of experimental design, data analysis and
manuscript preparation. In addition, he/she may also assist with grant
preparation and participate in training of graduate students.
The Postdoctoral Associate must have extensive experience in studying the
molecular and cell biology using cancer as disease model. The research for
this position is primarily focused on delineating the molecular pathways
that regulate autophagy in cancer using RNA interference screens and further
developing novel therapeutics to treat cancer. Please refer to the
following publication: Sheng et al., Nature Medicine 2010, 16: 671-677 and
Sheng et al., Blood 2011, 118 (10), 2840-2848. Experience with mouse cancer
models is preferred. Ph.D in molecular biology, biochemistry, cancer
biology or related field.

Research Associate Position:
The lab of Zhi Sheng, Ph.D. is seeking a Research Associate to assist in
general laboratory operations. The lab focuses on studying the molecular
biology of brain cancers. In particular, it is interested in interrogating
the molecular mechanisms by which brain cancers initiate and progress and
exploring the novel therapeutics to treat brain cancer patients.
Master's degree in biology, biochemistry, or related field. An exception may
be granted for individuals with a bachelor's degree and significant
relevant experience.
Other required skills include:
1. Demonstrated experience in lab management
2. DNA cloning
3. Tissue culture of cell lines and primary cells
4. Protein analysis such as western blotting.
5. Gene expression analysis such as quantitative PCR.
6. General computer skills, including Word and Excel.
