我是学生，1024-S上的收入来源是
Scholarship or Fellowship Grants (Income Code 15)
和
Countries With Treaty Benefits for Studying and Training (Income Code 19)
这两个应该都是符合免税条款的。
前两年用glacier软件报税，比如我w2上Federal Income Tax Withhold是1000美金，那
么我最后能拿到的refund也跟这个数类似。
但是今年学校换成了sprintax，都填完后算出来的refund跟w2上差了近800美金。说是
这800美金被用来交税了，不懂是为什么，请高手指点。我可不可以不用这个软件呢？
实在不知道哪儿填的有问题。

30天。前几天和老板聊了关于我回国一个月的打算，他当时很爽快地同意了。今天
老板把我叫到办公室，说HR的头不同意让我unpaid leave一个月，说是too much
paper work, 涉及到保险， 401K...一会又说公司不想这么做，因为怕其他人跟风。
妈的，既然不行，写到员工手册干吗？？？！！！
求建议

一般不要threat 。除非你的工作非你不可。
unpaid leave一般都是要manager批准的。不是说你申请就一定有的。
同样的，很多公司规定，你要做工作以外的工作，需要公司的manager批准，但很多时
候公司其实是不
希望你去做其它工作的。

why take unpaid leave? no vacation time?
no normal company would let people take 1 months off for no good read,
paid or unpaid doesn't matter

老板要找人take over，怕麻烦，你可以跟老板讲你的project都可以passdown给谁谁

当然算了。因为要回来还能给你原来的职位的。
工作是你想走容易，想回来就不容易了。

try sth called FMLA/CFRA leave.
I think it depends on your state

no company will let a regular employee out for a whole month without good
reasons. Good 家庭原因 will be something like serious illness of immediate
family member.
What's yours?

well, his/her company has unpaid leave as a benefit. The problem is that LZ
did not say about any stipulations/conditions.

many company said 'benefit' at manager's discretion, such as leave of
absence, reimburse of tuition/cont' education, etc. Well, I won't count too much on that, particularly for a large company.
On another hand, if a position is ok to be vacancy for a month without
impacting the business, the position should be eliminated or converted to contract.
