刚从UTA的同学得到消息，CS系的刘东钢教授去世，留下妻子和一双五岁的儿女，令人
扼腕叹息
It is with great sorrow that we must inform you that Dr. Donggang Liu, an
associate professor in the Computer Science and Engineering Department,
passed away peacefully on March 20th, after a long and courageous battle
with brain cancer. He is survived by his wife Rongfang Li, his 5-year-old
twin son and daughter, Eric and Emily, and his parents.
Dr. Liu joined UTA in 2005 as an assistant professor after he graduated from
North Carolina State University with a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science. He
was promoted to associate professor with tenure in 2011. He earned an M.S.
Degree from the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of
Science, and a B.S. Degree from Beijing Institute of Technology. His
research interests included network and distributed system security, with a
focus on wireless security and system security.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 26th, at 10 a.m., at
Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76012. A memorial
fund is set up to accept financial donation to Dr. Liu's family at https://
www.youcaring.com/donggangliu.
The CSE Department extends our deepest condolences to Dr. Liu's family,
friends and students. He will be truly missed by us.
