可以独立存在...have a life of its own

I like his "Revolution" most. Fragile and delicate as he was,
you cannot imagine he could write such a full-of-enthusiasm,
strong-feeling piece. maybe that is becuse George Sand triggerred
him the stamina, or perhaps the Polish characterictics inside,
I believe the second.
His polonaise and marzuka are as famous as his etude and nocturne.

I also think it is the Polish character inside. ;)
Chopin is a headstrong Polish nationalist who despised the Russian
czar's ruling over his country.
Aside from two concertos for piano and orchestra, he mostly
concentrated on the small-scale composition, as you mentioned:
marzukas, polonaises, preludes, etudes, nocturnes ...really fascinating.
What touches me most is his works always project a variety of
emotions, from introspection to heroic defiance, and the particular
mood was always deeply

//hand.
it seems to me that there are lots of famous masterpieces
for piano concerto, but fewer for violin concerto.
The Four Great Violin concerto: Von Beethoven' VC No.1 in D major,
Tchkovsky's VC in D major
Mandelson's VC in e flat minor
Brahums's VC (never listern it, but it is said this was only VC he
wrote and first piece he wrote for violin because he didn't have any idea
about this instrument)
Except Mandelson's and Beethoven's VC, the other two are just for Cou4 shu4.
But you can make
