On July 1, 2004, the Cassini spacecraft will place itself into orbit around
Saturn and begin to capture images of the Ringed Planet unlike any we've seen
before — that is, if its vision is clear.
Following a routine heating in late May 2001 and subsequent cool-down to its
regular temperature, Cassini's narrow-angle camera began returning images of
stars with fuzzy halos around them — much like stars viewed
