实际上现在多数奔驰车上都有一个非礼猫估计从来没听说过的东西, 就是那个AirMatic
是可调的.实际上ML的5 inch ground clearance是default setting下的,为了在城市里
面跑的时候的handling. 到offroad的时候,只要把airmatic调到high, ground
clearance会立刻被增加到10 inch以上.而ML系列有on/off road package(这个package
现在在美国可能不一定买得到了,可以custom order但是真的没有几个人买,因为用不上
),有这个package的话ground clearance可以被调到差不多11 inch.

图中可以看到, 低配的ML配套的悬挂是steel suspension 和液压减震,这种配置的
ground clearance是恒定的202mm, 换算过来大概是7.95inch, 非常接近8inch. 高配的
ML配置的airmatic减震不光在舒适性上秒杀所有液压减震车型,而且ground clearance
可调,range从5inch一直到10inch多(255mm).而如果有on/off road package的话,
ground clearance可以增大到285mm(11.22inch).
当然,需要指出的是,这个airmatic是有不少诟病的,主要是airmatic的可靠性.很多人的
airmatic减震器不到5万mi就需要更换,主要是漏气,而且更换价钱不菲(很多人的
covered under warranty但是第二次就不是了). 但是我要说的是,You get what you
paid for. 坐过airmatic车的人都说再也不愿意坐液压减震的车.如果care这点钱的话
还是去开烤肉拉好了.

日托根本就不敢相信,他们的老大非礼猫费半天劲黑,说跟轿车一样的ML,offroad能力居
然如此强悍,在没有on/off road package的条件下,ground clearance就可以达到10英
寸.

只要车主愿意，任何车子都可以加装空气悬挂来改变离地高度，空气悬挂不是SUV的专
利，你不可能用空气悬挂来区分轿车和SUV。换句话，你不能说一辆轿车因为装上空气悬
挂之后ground clearance如何如何，就说它不是辆轿车。
要看一辆车设计初衷的ground clearance，就要看它在最低配形态下的参数。这就好比
你怀里揣着别人的房产证，坐进你的97 E320里面。假设车子值$3,000，房子值$300,
000，那么车子+你+房产证这个系统总价值为$300,000 + 3,000 = $303,000（没错我这
个加法没有漏掉什么），跟一辆劳斯莱斯差不多。但问题是这个系统还是跟劳斯莱斯相
差极其远。

你不用狡辩.实际上你这个解释非常牵强.且不说奔驰在使用airmatic的时候对地盘做了
非常好的调校,使其能适应一个非常大的range.如果你说初衷的话, ML配液压减震的版
本gc有接近8inch,我觉得这个应该是设计初衷. 配airmatic的high setting时有10inch
多, 配on/off road package的可以达到11.22inch. 5inch是airmatic在城市里的
setting,主要是为了comfortable和handling.
另外改装过ML的都知道,如果想突出其offroad特性,只要做少量的调整,ML的offroad性
能就非常可观了.注意看我给你的表格,搭载off road package的ml爬坡能力达到100%,
不知道丰田汉兰达的哪个trim能做到这一点? 实际上没有任何车能非常perfect地同时
适应offroad和城市路面,但是
一个坯子好的车,做少量调整就可以非常好地适应其中任意一个.而出厂调校是根据市场
决定的.美国这边的市场上就没什么人真正需要offroad,所以出厂就调成了城市路面的,
甚至连on/off road package在美国都很难买到.而在欧洲由于很多offroad的需求,所以
on/off road package可以轻易买到而且出厂调校也更偏向offroad. 不能因为一个车调
校偏向城市路况就说这车是个轿车.
以前的W163的出厂调校就比较偏向offroad,代价就是很多人开W163觉得太颠.

事实上说起ground clearance,被日托们吹成神的land cruiser,2013版的ground
clearance也只有8.9inch而且不可调. 相比之下,LR4有9.5inch而且是可调的.可以看出
,论ground clearance,ML轻松击败Land Cruiser.

这个例子不恰当，早些年的land cruiser 是有可升高悬挂的，后来toyota 觉得影响可
考性，衡量得失后去掉了。别拿这个当技术实力

贴一个非礼猫给出来的MBUSA在facebook上说的原话：
Mercedes-Benz USA Kaushik, we don't measure official numbers for ground
clearance, but Car and Driver listed it as 5.4". With the On/Off Road
Package the AIRMATIC suspension can raise it to a maximum 11.2 inches,

It's not. Only those with '4matic' have the "on/off road" package to be
optioned in with the 'airmatic'.

No. Airmatic can be installed regardless of whether on/off road package is
present or 4matic is present. Actually on most of cars sold in US Airmatic
is a standard feature
although it appears on the invoice that they charge you money for it.
However if you want the hydraulic suspension you can ask them for it.
With Airmatic and without the on/off road package the ML can be raised up to
255mm ground clearance which is about 10 inch high.

瞎话张嘴就来，C250上也有agility control，难道C250是空气悬挂了？

body motions for sharper handling feedback and stability, and reduces the
damping rates during gentler motions for a smoother, more composed ride”
奔驰就爱故弄玄虚，普通得不能再普通的一个shock，花几行字描述一下工作原理，然
后再套上一个名字“agility control”，还就真的想把自己包装成跟别的不一样的悬
挂？
这其实就是很常见的Twin Tube PSD shock。

I tried the options/packages from KBB.com for the model. With base ML350,
there is not even the option/package of "Off Road" package. While for ML 350
4matic, there is an additional package called "on/off road package" that
includes 'airmatic'.
I just cannot see 'airmatic' is equipped as standard unless you have a
better explanation.

I would say go to the dealer and ask them directly. Don't trust any shits
like kbb. They know nothing.
Again airmatic is not an offical "standard" feature since they charge you
money for that. However you can get it regardless of whether you have the
4matic or on/off road package or not.

Don't have time to deal with dealership directly. However, I've dealt with
their web site before. For example, BMW's web site allows people to build a
vehicle for their own needs and satisfaction.
I looked at MB USA here for its build configurations:

Surprisingly, I don't see any option at all mentioning 'Airmatic'. I guess
either you are right in that this is equipped standard, or it's not an
option to be equipped at all. If you find an answer to it, that'll be very
helpful.
In either case, still, the M class has a 5.2" (Edmunds), or 5.4" (Car and
Driver Mag), ground clearance as its official specs state. Please enlighten
us about it. thanks.

5 inch is the default setting optimized for city driving. The photo in my
thread is also from mb official and you can trust it.
Remember, Mercedes is not Toyota. It's not a company that flatters itself.
What Mercedes does is to provide some really good products and that's all.
If your choice is based on what other people say, you are not a customer of
Mercedes.

Oh, I'm not into MB that much, but more of a BMW guy.
I understand that MB M SUV is a city cowboy, not designed for off road, just
like many other modern crossover SUVs. It's been a trend that many
manufacturers put their SUVs lower as their overall height and lower the
ground clearance too. I don't blame them at all. What's the use of high
ground clearance is not being used.
It's just that 5.2" or 5.4" clearance is really not a good spec for a (city)
SUV. For this matter, 2014 Subaru Forest is 8.7", 2013 CRV: 6.7", RAV4: 6.3
", Nissan Rogue: 8.3", just FYI.

宝马和奔驰很多车型里能选配的东西在官网上并不写明，只有买车时去dealer做
special order的时候才有，但是宝马和奔驰的车主或者潜在车主在论坛上会定期share
最新款的配置清单，这些清单一般是dealer提供的，你去bimmerfest或者mbworld看看
就知道了。官网上给出的，只是最常见的几种配置而已。
比如我这个订单里很清楚，489号配置就是空气悬挂。这里面除了空气悬挂，还有些配
置也是官网上看不到的，但是我有MY14 ML系列和GL系列的详细配置清单，从那上面能
看到，factory order能加那些选项。
你可能会问，那为什么官网上不把这些都贴出来呢？笑话，官网上为啥要把这些都挨个
贴出来？官网无非就是让大家了解一下车型和基本参数，配置，严肃的买家自然会去
dealer买车，不严肃的，配着玩玩也就算了。
如果我是官网，我也不会把“明明不是潜在买家，却在网上意淫配车”的用户的需求考
虑进去。因为考虑了这些用户的需求对我没有任何意义。

What you stated here is reasonable and the dealership may have more 'secret'
options than their web site data. I do go to Bimmerfest often and did saw
their order list for new models. However, I don't see many options appearing
in the fan-circulated order list but being absent in BMWUsa's official web
site for vehicle build configuration. I might have to review those lists
again. There are many options and features there and I never compare that
listed features with their web site build features before. It's a good point!

这个纯属扯。MB不了解，但作为多年多辆BMW车主，每次买车前每一个配置在网上都可以
查到，dealer哪儿也绝对没有什么secret option，非常透明。严肃买家才懒得去
dealer啰嗦。各种到店里试来试去问东问西的反而不一定的真正的买家。

我看了dealer的车 MSRP单子上面大多没有显示有这个airmatic的package
是不是代表就没有这个airmatic
没有的话那岂不是还是只有5inch clearance？

我说过了，官方数据，没空气悬挂的W166 gc是202mm=7.95 inch。
