Sierra Nevada Corporation's Integrated Mission Systems business unit in
Hagerstown, Maryland is continuing to grow in support of its customers and
needs your help in this effort. We provide capability to the Department of
Defense, Customs and Border Protection, other agencies, and support
international customers in supplying them with Airborne Intelligence,
Surveillance and Reconnaissance solutions. We design, build, integrate, and
operate these highly capable platforms for missions around the world.
Our future Director of Business Development will be responsible for pursuing
new business opportunities and activities within the Integrated Mission
Systems business unit that affect future growth. This person will enhance
and maintain positive customer relations with existing and create a new
customer base.
They will be responsible for supporting the Business Area Leader (BAL) in
the execution of Business Area (BA) Capture Management and Planning (CMAP),
to include:
• Pursuing new business area (BA) opportunities that will increase
revenue.
• Anticipate new business activities with an emphasis on ROI.
• Develop and support the VP of BD with new ideas and acquiring funds
for new programs.
• Able to assist in meeting long and short term goals.
They are also responsible for supporting BD VP in preparation and execution
of BA Marketing Management Plans (MMP) in accordance with the Corporate CMAP
Process. Contributes on a daily basis to the quarterly Corporate Planning
and Performance Measurement (CPPM) meetings.
Participates in strategic Research and Development (R&D) initiatives within
the company. Provides input to the BD VP in establishing and management of
the BA Business Development Indirect Budget.
Responsible for compliance with approved Corporate and ISO 9001:2000
Policies and Processes.
Requirements:
Candidates for this position preferably have a bachelors degree and 10+
years of experience in a business development atmosphere. A Masters degree
is a plus. The candidate should be knowledgeable in the Washington, DC area/
DoD user community.
Experience with Department of Defense military services and program
acquisition procedures is highly desirable. A background in civilian
business development, , program management and team building is also desired
. Experience in proposal preparation, submittals and Requests for
Information are desired.
This person must be able to interpret customer requirements, and assist the
customer in preparing operational concepts. Then, with the assistance of
appropriate technical personnel, translate those into feasible technical
solutions.
The position requires the ability to work independently as well as with a
group to develop business strategies, contacts, solutions and plans.
This person must have a Secret security clearance and the ability to upgrade
to Top Secret/SCI.
