Program Manager, Systems Development & Integration

Job Description
The Program Manager, Systems Development and Integration will lead diverse
systems integration and modification efforts across varied spectrums of
defense, commercial, and special mission systems aircraft. The candidate
will provide management of assigned personnel and overall program
performance from the proposal stage, into production, delivery and contract
closeout.
* Responsible for the financial, applicable technology, and schedule
performance of assigned programs within cost limitations and established
standards.
* May coordinate proposal preparation, statements of work and
specifications, estimation of product/service costs, negotiation and
administration of contracts.
* Authority to make decisions, carry out actions, and direct others in
matters related to the duties and goals of this position.
* Establishes program plans and milestones and monitors adherence to
program master plans and schedules. Develops control systems and reports
that accurately measure progress, identify potential problems in sufficient
time for corrective action to be taken, and ensures the meeting of company's
contract commitments.
* Works across boundaries and orchestrates actions by directing the
performance of program teams and functional task elements such as
procurement, manufacturing, quality control, logistics, and administrative
functions.
* Focuses on the customer and acts as primary customer contact on status
and performance and anticipates and fulfills customer needs to ensure their
satisfaction and continued business.
* Makes decisions and sets the course by providing strategic direction
and establishing goals. Accountable to provide satisfactory reasons for
significant deviations from duties or expected results.
* Candidate will provide strong leadership and effective management with
a proven ability to form a talented staff and effectively manage their
efforts.
* Knowledge of technical approaches involved in aircraft modification
programs. Will interface with and present proposed solutions to high-level
representatives of customers.
* Knowledge of U.S. Government acquisition practices and ability to
develop customer specifications and correspondence related to new systems
requirements.
* Responsible for financial and schedule performance of Program.
* Must be able to successfully lead a cross functional team comprised of
functional groups from engineering, manufacturing and support areas of the
company to achieve successful performance to budget and contract completion
on schedule.
* Acts as customer contact on status and performance. Anticipates and
fulfills customer needs to ensure their satisfaction and continued business.
* Must be able to have strong organizational and effective communication
skills.
* Must be able to demonstrate leadership and positive interpersonal
interaction skills with the customer.
* Must be able to effectively interface with diverse cultures.
* Must be able to understand and implement EVMS, 6-Sigma, lean
manufacturing and project management tools with particular emphasis on
scheduling of complex inter-related activities.
* Sets the highest ethical standards for self and others.
* Other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills & Experience
* Technical or Business Bachelor Degree + 12 yrs. Program or Production
Management/ Finance/EVMS, or Project Engineering experience.
* Knowledgeable of subsystems and components used for aircraft
modifications, as well as experience in developing Statements of Work (SOW).
* Must have some Risk Management experience.
* Must have experience in aerospace and/or defense industry, as well as
some experience in technical program planning, and cost and schedule
development.
* Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance.
* Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiar with
Project.
* Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
* Must be able to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required.
