Project
Innovative Guided-Wave Sensor and System for Inspecting the Integrity and Co
rrosion Extent of Buried or Covered Pipes
Duties
1. Design models for guided waves (GW) emission and receipt, and the
behavio
r of elastic waves when they are propagating in the inspected pipe;
2. Develop simulation and perform necessary programming for the above
inspec
tion;
3. Design and implement required sensors for GW-based inspection;
4. Carry out necessary research work, on-site testing and assist the
Princip
le Investigator in all aspects; and
5. Responsible for miscellaneous administration, teaching assistance
and off
ice-related work.
Requirements
A Master's degree in Engineering or related disciplines plus 1 year's experi
ence. Proficiency in MATLAB and LabView, and good knowledge and practical s
kills in mathematical modelling and simulation tools (such as ANSYS, Console
and Abauqs) are required.
Candidates with a PhD and no more than 3 years' postdoctoral experience may
be considered for appointment as Postdoctoral Fellow.
Salary and Conditions of Service
Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications
and experience. Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultat
ions at the campus clinic.
