普通学校理工学科小方向 专业排名中等

申请
今年职位明显多 就我小方向有十多 好中差都有
最好的直接据了我 最差的两所也据了 其中有所跟我的几个研究方向完全一致 可能是学校出身不够有有吸引力
一个电面 两个校面中等排名 背景跟要求基本一致
材料准备
导师很好 修改了几遍材料 也跟我练习面试
去面试之前那周还叮嘱我一些细节问题
我自己收集了几类问题 有十多页 不会的跟老师商量
问题贴在后面了
面试
我口语一般 着急了就喜欢乱说 发音还凑合 于是问题我都慢慢答 有时间考虑 有例子支持比如问教书方法 这样口语劣势不明显
同时多问多了解职位的小要求 这些可能没有在广告中描述的 系里头做我这方向不多但是有兴趣觉得很重要 于是我也有信心
车轮面了所有老师 问了很多问题大都列在我单子上 没有时间讨论很深入的研究问题
跟学生也聊 鼓励他们的研究 同时问需要的改进跟期待 这也是一些准备的标准问题
两天下来很累 每天跟老师吃三顿 吃饭的时候也有面试 每顿都吃不完
第二天的research presentation我都晕了 但是讲过几次基本还好 感觉体力很重要
关于fresh phd
我没有单独教课的经验,所以收集了很多相关课程的大纲,看看人家老师怎么教的,这样聊起天也有1,2,3可说
funding方面也没有单独申请过,跟老师一起接触了一些合作方,然后参与写了小的项目申请,看到板上NSF的申请我还是有很多要学习的
然后就是信心 对方跟自己都要建立一种信心 自己能在未来6年能做点成绩出来
另外就是学校并没有因为我博士的出身直接就Pass掉我 今年了解到传统牛校也有不少fresh phd 在申请 所以很幸运得到他们的认可
下面贴的问题没有详细的答案 申请的时候按照自己的情况做一些考虑应该都是不错的

去过olive garden的人大多知道他们的这个招牌餐前点,据说是意大利Tuscany地区的
一个汤,以鸡
汤和奶油为主要味道。传到美国来后还有多原汁原味,我就不得而知了。我在网上找到
一个模仿的菜
谱,做了几次,都还不错,很接近餐馆里的味道。
我参照的菜谱

不过可以灵活多变,比如我用的就是散装的意大利香肠(没有装进肠衣),没有用kale
,自己加了胡萝
卜,鸡汤也可以换成牛肉汤。

就是我自己写一张自己的支票,然后到对方的银行,提供对方的的银行信息,然后说要
将我的支票存进
对方的账户,就可以直接在银行存钱给别人啊?
关键是不是所有银行都可以这样的?

不好意思各位 我基本都没有写详细的答案 列的都是跟自己专业定制的一些要点
主要准备了
自己的研究方向 有什么作用 可以跟系里头/业界什么人合作
主要funding来源 准备了自己曾经合作的 以及对方学校本地一些资源
另外聊到自己的研究方向的前景 需要说服对方这个是在未来有一个很不错的发展(吸
引学生/funding)通常也是我有点初步成果的地方 可能跟本学科应用特点比较强有关

教课方面大体分了课程类型准备 比如问道什么课怎么教很多时候我就是看到人家大纲
的要求提到的东西作为参考答案的 比较偷懒 然后结合自己做TA的经历讲了些例子 这
样听起来比较有个人特点 也有说服力 比较有空的话可以看看 how to teach xxx
会提到5年内的一个规划 实际结合了教课跟研究以及其他 这个问题非常重要 我就说了
想要tenure 呵呵

估计是电子或机械的。
大类不重要,挂羊头卖狗肉的也不少……
其实博士老板最重要,不一定要牛人,但一定要RP比较好或者至少是比较真心搞
research的人……
恩,想不通我以前为什么那么白痴……
