Politically correct tyranny is afoot at the University of Houston.
I was recently made aware of a student at the university who was suspended
by the student government association for 50 days and ordered to attend
diversity training over a reference she made about the Black Lives Matter
crowd.
“#ForgetBlackLivesMatter; more like AllLivesMatter,” wrote student Rohini
Sethi on Facebook. Miss Sethi, the vice president of the school’s student
government association, wrote those words last month just a few hours after
five Dallas police officers were assassinated.
Her belief that every life matters set off a firestorm of controversy among
students – including the Black Student Union.

约的早上8点15的，提前了40分钟去排队，结果说已经很多人在排队了，10点多签
好出来
签证就问了两个问题：你们去美国干什么？
打算什么时候过去？
中间就看了下LD的签证资料，然后就说通过了，上海现在形势非常好
现在上海的签证护照回邮的快递费是收到护照的时候每个人交50元，今天才知道已经改
变方式了，两年前自己去签的时候都是先交钱再给寄的，看来功课做的不足啊，害爸妈
回旅馆还担心了下，怎么不要求交邮寄费，重新去8楼问了下
其他信息等他们到家了问了再上来更新
愿大家的父母都能顺利签过，bless

Sorry, haven't been here for long…
She graduated last year and moved to a different city. She's not my student
– I was on her thesis committee. I had written a (good) rec letter for
her postdoc application. She's lovely girl and we had a good relationship,
but nothing special.
Today I (quite unexpectedly) received a delivery of a large bouquet of fresh

楼主想太多了啦，我实验室的美国女生，给谁写信，后面都署个love, kate.我第一次
收到她的信还愣了一下。现在我自己写信，也经常加个love.

用 sincerely 替代 love 就可以发出去了，如果你不想要 affair。花应该大方地放在
桌上，否则容易引起猜疑。
love 是女同志专用的。

I decided to call her to express my appreciation.
She said she experienced some difficult time the past year adapting to a new
environment. Missed her graduate school horribly, to the point of becoming
depressive. She wanted to do a few things (including sending the flowers
to me) but didn't have enough courage. She eventually did it, after talking
to her friends. Now she feels relieved... (She didn't tell me what other
things she wanted to do.)
I actually regretted calling, because I ran

lz想多了，老师promote了，已经毕业的学生送个花没啥啊。如果没毕业，可能会出去
和您吃个饭。一个意思。

其实可以在发一个follow up的email，把想说但没说或没说清的都可以在email里提到。
