Recently a person on a J-1 visa contacted me for joining my lab. Due to
personal reasons, however, he cannot physically show up in my lab and
must stay in another state for the beginning 6 months.
Although it is OK from a research perspective (involving computer-based data
collection and literature research), is it allowable from a legal
perspective?
