Position: Postdoctoral Scientist in Diabetes.
The diabetes and obesity group of our company in Boston is committed to
discovering innovative medicines to treat cardiovascular and metabolic
disorders. We have an immediate opening for a postdoctoral scientist in the
areas of metabolic, cardiovascular, and mitochondrial dysfunction research.
The postdoctoral scientist will be responsible for:
Validating novel targets for diabetes, insulin resistance, and
metabolism in skeletal muscle, liver, and adipose tissues and cell lines.
Collaborating with other functional groups within the company.
Provide and present analysis of results to support the
generation of publications, patents, and regulatory submissions.
Manage BS/MS level scientists and be an integral member of
discovery teams.
The candidate is required to obtain a PhD/MD degree within past two years.
Research training should be in one or multiple of the following areas:
endocrinology, metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, glucose and lipid
metabolism, and mitochondrial dysfunction. The candidate should have strong
laboratory skills, a proven track-record of scientific achievement including
quality publications, demonstrated ability to work in an interdisciplinary
team setting, and experience supervising and training technical level staff.
Broad scientific knowledge, strong work ethic, excellent oral and written
communication is essential. Salary is commensurate with experience.
