感觉他做的跟我熟悉的传统生物学家完全不一样啊。
我理解的生物研究就是克隆个基因，做个抗体，研究清楚一个通路，找到一个酶，找到
一些target genes，筛个突变体，做个KO老鼠，看到表型，结晶结构，deep seq。这是
我所熟悉的，比如张毅王晓东骆利群，他们的文章我一看就能懂，也知道他们是想回答
什么问题。
像这个H. Sebastian Seung，我就不懂了。谁能通俗易懂地说说他到底研究什么，意义
（学术or现实）有多牛逼？
还有那个Christof Koch。

If you can get him to be your advisor, you will never need to worry about
getting a job, even in Wall Street.

honestly, i don't think he is a niu, after be in his talk. i don't see what

他做了什么，使得自己这么大的影响力？
为何对华尔街都能有影响？
如果你是Richard Axel的学生，能不能即使没有paper也不担心找工作？

finding a job in wall street is totally different from "对华尔街都能有影响",
I am not talking about "影响力",
I am talking about your training and skill set from working in his lab.
They have the most talented computer scientists and mathematicians, and
they are modeling and mining very complex dataset, no matter is
financial or biological, your scope and skills will be tuned to the
similar level.
and at the beginning, he was not a biologist, but a influential figure
in computer science/machine learning.
for Richard Axel, I don't think you have much chance to find jobs in
companies or wall street, no matter how many papers you have. Here "找工
作", I am not talking about postdoc jobs, I am talking about real jobs.

why do you care?
do you want to be "做western做KO老鼠的biologist" for your whole life?
if yes, then you just need to find Nobel guys like Richard Axel, and publish
papers and do some pure biology postdoc and go to acadmia for your life.
Don't bother Sabastian Seung, you don't even need to know who he is.
