Your publication is excellent as a graduate student, especially since you worked pretty much on your own. You have the quality (independence) to survive in a big and competitive group. So you should have more confidence in yourself. If you are really interested in research, postdoc is a good chance for you to embark on something new and exciting. With your publication, you will find a good group if you try hard enough. Don't give up your hope if an academic career is really what you want.
