前辈和同修们说说，你们什么时候ready当一个PI# Biology - 生物学

我现在比较迷茫，博后当了几年了，文章发了一些，bench work这一块也基本上觉得没
有啥困难了，idea也不少，跟老板之间的互动非常好，写作这一块一直在努力提高，也
意识到这是未来十年都必须继续努力的。
觉得现在博后已经没有让自己提高的空间了，应该move on不能再继续当博后温水煮青
蛙。可是一想到当PI带领一个group觉得有点overwhelming，没有勇气去申请去动手申
请，一直就这么迷茫着。
不知道当了PI的前辈和那些准备要当PI的同修们，你们是什么时候觉得自己ready了呢
？

u will never feel ready for this kind of stuff.
just go for it.

When your ms can be submitted with very little input/revision from your PI
and comes back with positive comments; and when you can write a grant
application --turn your ideas into a fake grant and see if it read like a
real grant with chance for funding. If you can do both reasonably well, you
have the very basic foundation to be a PI.
