Here is my situation. My company will pay the closing cost. I got a letter from the relocation company regarding relocation expense reimbursment. It said that "the expense cut-off date is set at Nov 30, 2010. If you were authorized for home purcahse closing costs and the expenses are not finalized by Nov 30, any income based on this benefit will not be reported in 2010. The deduction points in Tax Year 2010 for income that has not been reported and the subsequent reporting of that income the following tax year may have an adverse impact on you". I can close either at the end of November or Dec 8. One friend said I should close the later the better. For tax purpose, which date is better? If I close on Dec 8 and report the expense after that, what adverse impact will be for the Tax Year 2011. Should I close at the end of Nov for tax purpose? First home buyer, any suggestion will be appreciated!

Can't expect much to let a very active bacterial nuclease lacking a stringent proofreading activity play on a genome of 3 billion base pairs.
