A debt? Graduate education pipeline is mess up. The supply of Ph.D.s is
way WAY over demand. Every PI should tell their new students that, I do.

I am impressed by this "But her broader point is sound: academia is now one
of the most exploitative labor markets in the world.". This is such a bloody
truth! Don't want to sound so cynic, but biomedical (and Chemistry?) may be
the worst in the entire academia

Yes, a debate...I think chemistry is worse. The incoming classes for most
chemistry departments (i.e. major state universities) are huge to just get
enough TA for the undergraduates, which just wrong.
