Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Staff Scientist, Immunology
to join Propagenix Inc. in Rockville, MD. This exciting opportunity will
focus on regenerative cell therapy and involves extensive hands-on
experimental immunology and cell biology. The successful candidate will
have an in-depth understanding of regenerative cell therapy, immune
rejection/tolerance toward allogenic grafts (e.g., skin graft, engineered
tracheal tissue), and significant experience with characterizing T cells and
NK cells phenotype and functionality. The ideal candidate will make
detailed observations, analyze data, and exercise appropriate scientific and
technical judgments in the design, execution, and interpretation of
experiments.
Duties and Responsibilities
Set up evaluation strategies using in vitro cell-based studies with dermal
keratinocytes, airway epithelial cells, human PBMC cells, and in vivo rodent
models to test novel regenerative cell therapy.
Perform correlative pre-clinical studies to evaluate the transfer,
persistence and function of regenerative cell therapy products.
Interpret and effectively execute upon a variety of instructions provided in
written, oral, diagram or schedule formats.
Utilize appropriate technology to create and distribute reports and key
information.
Coordinate parallel tasks across multiple projects, demonstrating
prioritization to manage timelines and deliverables.
Education and Experience
Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell Biology or Molecular Biology
Three (3) or more year’s post-doctoral experience, 1 – 2 years industry
experience is preferred
In vitro cell-based immunoassay development and validation
Hands-on experience with small animal transplantation/graft models (e.g.,
skin graft, engineered airway tissue)
Fluency in statistics, data analysis, and assessment of the reproducibility
and reliability of experimental data
Demonstrated experience in the following techniques or tools:
Molecular biology: cloning, qRT-PCR, Western
Immunology: Functional cell-based immunoassays (proliferation, T cell
activation), multi-color flow cytometry, cytokine analysis (intracellular,
ELISA), T cell subset and NK cells characterization and analysis
Cell Biology: Stable cell line development, primary epithelial cell culture
, 3D cell differentiation, air-liquid interface epithelial cell
differentiation
Animal Study: Small animal transplantation/graft
Software: GraphPad Prism, Accuri, Microsoft Office
