Pollinating seems a easy job, but is actually exhausting.
You need to climb up sometimes, or kneel down sometimes.
Some stamen in male flower are small, so you need to tape them inside
the stigma of a female flower.
Most boring part is their leaves make you allergical.
The pollen can make you allergical too.
Oh, I got some questions.
In some books, they show stamen and stigma in the same flower of plant,
for example,
1) does this mean there are stamen and stigma in the watermelon flower too?
2) if the female flower is too young and hasn't opened its petals, can we
manually open the petals and pollinate the stigma? Will it hurt the female
flower?
3) if the female flowers begin to fade and its petals have closed, can we
manually open their petals and pollinate them? Will it be successful?
Thanks a lot.
