NOTE: To submit an application please go to www.hp.com, navigate to the "
Jobs" link in the lower right side of the page and follow instructions to
submit your application for job #931219. Alternatively use the link http://www8.hp.com/us/en/jobsathp/index.html to get to the "Jobs" page directly.
Job description
The incumbent will assist the HP engineers to develop a volume of fluid (VOF
) and adaptive mesh refinement (AMR) based three-dimensional multiphase flow
solver. The Cartesian grid is used to solve the flow equations. To deal
with complex solid boundaries, either “cut cell method” or “immersed
boundary method” will be used to solve the equations. The interface between
the liquid and gas is tracked using the VOF method. To improve the
computational accuracy, an octree based AMR method will be incorporated to
the solver.
Requirement
(1) Have good understanding of low Reynolds flow involving free surface and
high surface tension
(2) Have deep understanding of common CFD methods especially Cartesian grid
based finite volume method.
(3) Have good understanding and experience of using VOF to solve free-
surface-flow problems
(4) Have good experience of using AMR method to solve flow problems
(5) Have good experience of large CFD code development using FORTRAN or C
Prefer
(1) Have experience of using open source code “GERRIS” or other related
open source codes
(2) Have experience of using “cut cell method” or “ immersed boundary
method”
(3) Have good understanding of computer data structures and algorithms such
as Octree, search, pointer operation.
The location is Corvallis, OR. If you think you are qualified, please send
me your CV.
