Job Description – Formulation Development Chemist
Looking for chemist with experience in formulation development and drug-drug
interactions – specifically with cannabis and pharmaceuticals. As a
Formulation Development Scientist you will be responsible for the
development of commercial dosage forms and clinical formulations. Passion
for a change and interest in alternative medicine required. This position is
a balance of research and development, method development, verification and
laboratory validation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Designing clinical and commercial formulations- tablets, capsules
, suspensions etc. Common formulations will include oral dosage forms.
• Experimental design for final formulation component selection.
• Use of small scale manufacturing technologies- blending,
granulations, milling encapsulation, lyphilisation etc.
• Measuring key formulation and API properties.
• Assessing stability of commercial formulations.
• Develop protocols for the manufacture of formulations at clinical
manufacturing sites.
• Preparing equipment and materials for experiments.
• Developing protocol and procedure for extraction and purification
of plant materials.
• Meeting the client's requirements at all times and dealing with
client queries.
To be considered for this position candidates must be educated to a minimum
BSc level in a scientific subject. This will be coupled with strong
experience of formulation development of clinical and commercial dosage
forms. You must have a good understanding of the requirements to work in a
GMP or GCP environment. The company are considering Formulation Scientists
from graduate level with 1-5 years industry experience, and also PhD
Scientists of whom their current research is focused on commercial
formulations.
