Opening scientist positions at NNMC (MD)
Immediate openings at National Naval Medical Center (1-year contract
via Kelly Government solutions)
1. The Research Scientist shall:
- Perform data analysis and processing related to neuroscience
applications and user support of the NICOE magnetoencephalography
(MEG) facility.
- Design and maintain signal processing methodology for research
electrophysiological data.
- Set up and use software packages specialized for signal processing,
image analysis and data management.
- Coordinate training of users in applying data and analysis methods
for their research and clinical studies.
- Develop processing methods to enhance use in Neuroscience research
applications of the MEG facility.
- Provide guidance in the analysis of MEG neuroimaging data.
- Present research at scientific meetings in the MEG research community
—prepare appropriate presentation materials to include, charts,
graphs, overheads, etc. Must be identified as a contract employee.
May be able to represent the government at approved meetings, but only
after receiving approval from appropriately identified Government
official.
- Will not have the authority to commit the Government.
Certifications, License, & Physical Requirements
- Ph.D. in science related field
- Minimum of eight (8) years related experience
- Expertise in data analysis, programming, independent component
analysis, signal mathematics and image processing in the neuroscience
field and especially in MEG physics.
- Expertise in basic scientific principles, concepts, and theories.
- Computer skills to include MS Office Suite.
- Strong oral and written communications skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Experience in development of technology supporting Neuroscience/TBI/
PHI related studies.
2. MEG Engineer/Scientist
The MEG/Engineer Scientist shall:
- Perform MEG system setup, calibration and other tasks as required to
maintain operational status of the MEG facility.
- Design and maintain signal processing systems for research
electrophysiological data.
- Set up and use computer systems and software packages specialized
for signal processing, image analysis and data management.
- Train facility users in applying systems and analysis methods for
research and clinical studies.
- Develop processing methods to enhance use in Neuroscience research
applications of the MEG facility
Certifications, License, & Physical Requirements
- Advanced degree in computer science, engineering, physics or other
related discipline.
- Minimum five (5) years related experience.
- Expertise in computer systems, operating systems, programming,
independent component analysis, signal mathematics and image
processing in the neuroscience field.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
