My name is XXX. I live in XXXX. I am currently working as a Postdoctoral
fellow for XXX. I am writing to you concerning my J1 waiver case. The
Department of State sent a Favorable Recommendation Letter for my J1 waiver
to US Citizenship and Immigration Services on Aug. 13th. However, the
application has been delayed for 2 months already, and this is greatly
jeopardizing my employment contract as an XXX at XXX.
I earned my PhD degree in XXX in Dec. 2011 and continue to work as a
Postdoctoral fellow here. My research is focused on novel nano-technologies
for renewable/sustainable energy conversion. One example is converting
wasted heat from vehicles and industrial activities back to electricity,
which will greatly improve fuel efficiency. The output from my research
will definitely bring positive impacts to society. I was offered a position
at XXX as XXX and was supposed to start working at the end of August, 2012.
Because of the delay on my J1 waiver, this became impossible. The XXX kindly
postponed the starting date to Jan. 2013. In order to have enough time to
apply for H1b visa and begin work on time, I need the J1 waiver to be
processed as soon as possible.
Because of the current backlog of cases and the urgency of this request,
could you please help to write a letter to USCIS to expedite the processing
of my J1 waiver? My case number is: EACXXXXX.

位，包括本州和要去的那个州。
其中本州的house Representative 办公室一周内就联系了我，问了具体情况。他很快
就联系了USCIS，说两周大概就处理到我的case了。到今天是两周多2天。还有两位
senator office 过了很久才回应，要求我填privacy release form.
有一个教训是，senator有很多的office, 最好联系本州的office. 尤其是今年大选，
DC的office都会直接把case转到州内，会浪费时间。
