Immigration Voice Today, Dr.Puneet Arora will testify in U.S Senate on behalf of Immigration Voice. Immigration Voice is pleased to announce that one of its core members, Dr. Puneet Arora, has been invited to testfy at a Senate Immigration Sub- committee hearing on July 26th, 2011 at 10:00 AM ET. As a result of the persistent advocacy and grass-roots efforts of Immigration Voice members, we have been gaining success in creating more awareness on Capitol Hill, regarding the issue of green card backlogs. Several lawmaker offices are now working closely with their constituents and members of Immigration Voice to bring about necessary reform to the high-skilled immigration system. These ongoing efforts are intended to alleviate the suffering of thousands of green card applicants and their families who are stuck in wait times stretching from anywhere between 8 to 30 years. The invitation to testify in the Senate Immigration sub-committee is a significant stride towards drawing attention to our issues. Immigration Voice very much appreciates the leadership of Senate Immigration , Refugees and Border Security sub-committee Chairman Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Ranking member Senator John Cornyn (R-TX). A large number of Immigration Voice members are confident that Dr. Puneet Arora’s testimony at this hearing will help convince the Senate Immigration Sub-committee about the urgent need to reform the outdated and broken high-skilled green card system. Continuing green card backlogs and the subsequent reverse brain drain of talent from the US will severely impede American innovation, entrepreneurship and wealth creation for all Americans. Dr.Arora will be joined on the panel by Mr.Robert Greifeld - NASDAQ, Dr. David J.Skorton – Cornell University, Mr.Brad Smith – Senior Vice- President, Microsoft.
