Sichuan University-Pittsburgh Institute Faculty Positions: Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Social Sciences Sichuan University-Pittsburgh Institute invites applications for faculty positions at all levels. Sichuan University-Pittsburgh Institute (SCUPI) is a new joint institute located in Chengdu, China. Established by Sichuan University and the University of Pittsburgh, SCUPI matriculated its first group of one hundred freshmen in the fall of 2015. The undergraduate program, focused on advanced and sustainable manufacturing, offers majors in Industrial Engineering (IE) , Mechanical Engineering (ME), and Materials Science and Engineering (MSE). SCUPI will grow to a steady-state enrollment of one thousand six hundred students and eighty faculty within seven years. All courses are taught in English. We seek outstanding engineering faculty for positions at all levels of three technical majors (IE, ME, and MSE), and also faculty to teach courses in the freshman curriculum. Our comprehensive curriculum includes courses in physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, humanities, social sciences, and English. Candidates should have experience teaching at the university level and be interested in helping to build and grow a new institution. An earned doctoral degree and native-level English fluency are required. Tenure-track, non-tenure stream (NTS), and temporary (visiting) appointments are all available. Terms of employment, including salary, relocation, and start-up packages are competitive and on par with those offered by U.S. universities in the United States.
