工资开始低点到无所谓，但是不到prevailing wage，可能办绿卡会有麻烦。大家有在
工资低于5万的时候，就开始办绿卡的吗？

The company should promise to give you high salary after your got your GC.

My GC prevailing wage is 81K and is higher than what I have. But no problem,
PERM and I-140 already approved.

experience in a big firm in China. got my phd here. My first offer is 70k
in a small firm,terrible benefit. Got pe within the first year. two months
later, got an offer of 94,000.Now I am ready to jump with my sponsor to a
top 5 firm with 20% salary increase and a better title. Never imagined that
I can earn that money within two years after graduate:)))))

My experience in China is good. Seismic analysis for an international
airport in a big city. Highrise design and some big projects. Here they didn
't acknowledge my experience when I got my first offer. After PE and about
one year,my second company acknowledged my experience in China and gave me a
senior engineer title. My chance for my third offer is purely luck. It is
because my sponsor is a powerful leader and he got the offer and salary
negotiation for me in a top firm.

they gave me a title which I never have heard before. They told me that the
title is like a tenure in the company.Honestly, I don't know if it is true.

That is one of the method.
Another common method is like GeotechPE said: wage is based on 40hr/week but
in reality you may need work 48 or more.
Also, company may count all application fee plus attorney inside your wage.
After those reduction, the wage maybe only 33K.

why not?
part time H-1B, work on paper 20 hours or more but less than 40 hours
in reality, work more than 40 hours.
Say 33k per year / 30 hours (per week) / 52 weeks = $21/hour
why not?

个人感觉各个公司，地方差别还是挺大的。
